Jabish Brook Trestle Bridge Repairs and Upgrades: Funds granted and work scheduled to begin in Summer 2026

The Jabish Brook Trestle Repairs & Upgrades project was awarded a 2025 MassTrails Grant in the amount of $86,010. Our project was one of 112 proposals requesting $16.4 million submitted during the grant application period. This year, 50 projects will receive awards totaling $7.5 million in funding. 

The Trestle Bridge is on the trail between Franklin Street and North Washington Street in Belchertown. It has been deteriorating for many years and needs to be redone and made safer. The Friends of the Belchertown Greenway has helped procure two engineering studies over the past few years and now the work will begin soon!
